What is Involved in the Mains Chlorination Process
Chlorinating mains water is a precise disinfection process with clear steps, designed to keep all water users safe. There’s no room for guesswork.
The right concentration of disinfectant must reach every part of the newly installed pipework and stay for the correct time.
The water authority or supplier will expect lab reports to confirm that the cleaning has worked before they allow new supply to go live.

Flushed and Swabbed

Filled with Disinfecting Solution
A strong chlorine solution is then pumped into the pipework.
